As a bonded and authorized tour operator, VSF states that it is only a mediator between the passenger and the companies or persons who operate the services scheduled in the itineraries, such as transportation companies, hotels, restaurants, etc. Consequently, VSF declines any responsibility for deficiency, delay, personal accident or any other sort of irregularity that may occur. VSF also reserves the right to change the routing, hotel and sightseeing services, as well as itineraries of tours outlined in this catalogue, for equal or better services, when local conditions so warrant.

As soon as we receive your request we will make reservations and send you your booking number. This number will be your reference number for future changes or cancellations.

All changes must be sent by e-mail and Viajes sin Fronteras will send a new booking number confirming the change.

All the rates are quoted are per person, net to our clients, in U. S. Dollars (US$) and are valid from December 01st, 2007 to November 30th, 2008, unless there is a note stating another valid date beside any particular service. For Easter Week and for Christmas and New Year, rates are higher. If you do not find specifications in this tariff book for these periods, please contact us to quote it for you. Please note that rates are subject to change without previous notice.

Rates do not include, excess baggage fees and personal expenses such as: room services, alcoholic beverages, laundry services, personal telephone calls. Both tips to drivers and maids, local and international airport taxes (arrival & departure). Meals not mentioned in the programs.

In most packages daily breakfast is included however, there are other additional meals depending on the package. The following codes are used to show meals included in each package: (B) Breakfast, (L) Lunch, (D) Dinner, (FAP) Full Board, (MAP or half Board) Breakfast and Lunch or Dinner.

We offer door-to-door shuttle service connecting all main tourist destinations. This service is especially convenient because it is safe, efficient and delivers you directly from one hotel to another. All shuttle buses are air-conditioned and non-smoking.

We also offer private transportation in air-conditioned and non-smoking buses. Under request we can provide you an English speaking guide.

All the hotels we show you on this tariff are well known by all the VSF Staff and they are categorized according to the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) which is the authorized organ in Costa Rica to qualify the tourist facilities in the country. Often, the qualification in Stars given to the hotels, by the C. R. Tourism Board does not coincide with the international standards due to the geographical conditions in which these are located: mountains, jungles, wetlands.

For the shuttle service, each passenger is allowed one carry-on and one item of luggage; the carry-on must stay with the passenger at all times, while the luggage item will be tagged and placed in the luggage compartment.

Viajes Sin Fronteras S.A. will be held responsible for loss or damage to carry-on items left unsupervised by the passenger. This includes carry-on items incorrectly stored with the luggage.

Transportation of additional luggage, surfboards (maximum 7 feet in length), or large items are not included in the price and must be arranged ahead of time with VSF. A payment of $10 (U.S.) is required for each extra item. Additional luggage or large items will be stored in the luggage compartment, while surfboards will be secured to the roof of the shuttle bus.

All extra items are accepted according the available space. If there is no space remaining, the extra items cannot be transported.

Car seats for children are provided when requested prior at no extra charge. These requests are always filled if there are car seats available.

Our shuttle transportation includes one rest stop and/or a change of shuttle buses. However, a trip will never have more than two rest stops.

We advise all passengers to be available for pick-up at least fifteen minutes (15) prior to their assigned time. This is because the shuttle bus will only wait ten minutes (10) passed the assigned pick-up time. For example, if the pick-up time is 9am the shuttle bus will leave at 9:10am whether or not the passengers showed up. This police apply also for the scheduled tours.

Occasionally VSF uses ferries for transportation of passenger in places where there are no bridges. In this case, the shuttle bus will leave the passengers and their tagged luggage on the ferry to be picked up on the other side by a different shuttle bus and driver. VSF will not be held responsible for any situation due to the ferryboat operation, because this is a public transportation service and not services from VSF.

In our transportation and most of the hotels, no pets are allowed. Guide dogs are exceptions.

Costa Rican law requires all passengers to carry a valid passport. We can not assume responsibility for denied entry.

A valid driver's license and a credit card (for the security deposit) are necessary for car rentals. All countries have a minimum age requirement.

Car rental rates for packages that include a car do not include security deposits, gasoline, diesel, mandatory insurance (CDW), optional insurance, additional driver charges or airport charges and Global Positioning Systems (GPS), drop off charge.

VSF denies any liability for any car rental’s insurances (mandatory or optional), gasoline, diesel, security deposits, additional driver charges, or airport charges, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and drop off charge. These charges are payable to the car rental company directly.

The local airline permits a maximum of 25 lbs. (12kgs) per person for checked in baggage and a small handbag for the cabin. Most of the aircrafts do not have any overhead baggage compartments. Any baggage over 25 lbs. (12kgs) will be charged (they are still not guaranteed space on the aircraft) at a rate according to each local airline company policies.

All travel itineraries are based on the best information available at the time of confirmation. Due to the nature of international travel changes to schedules and itineraries may be necessary and may also prevent some of the scheduled activities to be completed. NO REFUNDS CAN BE GIVEN FOR SUCH ELIMINATION. We do not accept economic and civil responsibilities for losses or accidental expenses due to changes or delays in airline or hotel overbooking, defaults, weather, strikes, sickness, war, riots, theft, acts of nature, vandalism, medical and hospitalization expenses or any other causes not within the power of VSF. All such losses or expenses are the responsibility and are assumed by the travelers.

We recommend that travelers purchase short-term travel insurance covering baggage loss, accident/life and trip cancellations. This is available through many leading insurance companies at your country.

VSF reserves the right to disqualify, decline or accept any person as member of any trip or tour, should such person's actions impede the operation of the trip or the rights or welfare or enjoyment of other members of the trip. Refunds are usually not given under these circumstances. In such extraordinary circumstances when a refund is granted, it is agreed that a refund based on the actual cost of the unused land services is the limit of VSF responsibility.

In order to avoid any inconveniences "Viajes Sin Fronteras" let you know that as a recommendation from the airlines, you must be at the airport 3 hours in advance of your international departure flight. Take into consideration that the information flight was informed to us by your agency from your country at the moment we booked your trip.

If you have hired your transfer out with us, the departure time from your hotel to the airport will be coordinated according to this guideline. Require to reconfirm your flight, at least 72 hours before the departure flight date.

VSF denies any liability for any cancellations or change in your departure flight time which has not been informed to our Customer Support Department.

Full payment is due 60 days prior to the first services provide or at time of reservation if made within 59 days prior to the first services provide.

Modifications at no charge are accepted within 15 days in advance prior to departure. After that term modifications charge may apply. Please see details at the Travel Conditions Section.

For Cancellations requested more than 60 days prior to departure are charged 10% for administrative costs, the refund will be 90% of the full amount charged in the reservation. Cancellations requested less than 60 days prior to departure are charged 100%. No refunds apply.
