of Costa Rica. Around the perfectly cone-shaped Arenal Volcano, outdoor activities and relaxing hot thermal springs are waiting for you. In the fairytale cloud forest of Monteverde, lively hummingbirds are colorful highlights to the deep green background. A walk in the cool mountain climate is a must! At the end of the trip, you will enjoy genuine beach days at the cozy Pacific Coast village of Samara.
Costa Rica Pass tip: From December to April, migrating humpback whales pass by the coast of Samara. This is a spectacular natural phenomenon that you cannot miss! Additionally, near Samara you can find some of the most important nesting beaches for green sea turtles. All female green sea turtles born there will come back several times to the same beach to lay their eggs. Be part of the excitement when park rangers announce a massive arrival of sea turtles (usually between July and November), or 5 to 6 weeks after that when tiny baby turtles are born and make their way back to the sea.
